IPv6 routing

I'm about to enable IPv6 routing in a 5400 switch with K.15.xx image. Does anyone know if enabling of IPv6 routing requires reboot of switch?

Re: IPv6 routing

Please note that K.15.xx is an early availability release and has issues and not recommedend in live networks, this is intended for testing the new features.

Re: IPv6 routing

Enabling IPv6 and OSPFv3 and DHCPv6 relay services does not require a switch reload.

However, you will be required to reload the switch the after uploading the K.15 code, as it also needs to do a bootrom update.

So upload K.15, reload switch (it will reload 2 times), then you can enable IPv6 and its associated features/functions.

FYI, if you want a dynamic routing protocol for IPv6, you'll need to also enable RIPng or OPSFv3 for each IPv6 interface.
