Industrial Switches
I have been doing some research on the 2850 line of PoE switches and I like what I see so far. But one of my applications is mid-sized scada network that requires 'hardened' or harsh environment switches. Does anyone have any experience with these switches in a harsh environment? I am thinking of replacing some garrettcom gear.

Re: Industrial Switches
Hi,
I've not used the 2850s but we've had a few 2650s in some unpleasant locations (high levels of dust and ambient temperatures upto 40 deg.) and we've haven't had any issues with those.
You may want to consider the 2520 for those locations as it is PoE but also fanless.

Re: Industrial Switches
That's good information. This is a mining environment and dust is certainly an issue. (Along with moisture drastic temperature swings)
