InterVlan questions

Iam trying to configure an InterVlan base on the attached conceptual drawing. My objective here is to create 2 Vlans and use 2626 as the routing device for internal route (.1.3 & .10.1) and also use .1.4 as my default route for outside. My config is like this:

ip routing
vlan 1
ip address 192.168.1.3/24
unta 1-8
exit

vlan 2
ip address 192.168.10.1/24
unta 9-24
exit
wr mem
ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.1.4

I believe that following this simple configuration vlan1 & vlan2 would be able to talk to each other.
My simple questions are: Can those servers that were connected to downstream switch (4000) would be able to keep their GW IP? or Does the GW of those servers and pc has to be replaced by 192.168.1.3/24 since they are part of Vlan1? I am looking for a better approach for this scenario that will not require me changing configuration on all servers and PCs.

Hi

The Gateway should be the Vlan IP address of the Routing Switch, thats a fact.

And in your case you need to set the Gateway for devices in Vlan1 to 192.168.1.3 and devices in Vlan2 to 192.168.10.1, because you need both Vlans to communicate.

Thanks for your reply. Is there a way for Vlan2 devices to reach DHCP server using the current configuration in the drawing via layer3 hp2626?
