Is there a Java API to control the ProCurve 4000M switch

Is there a Java API to control the ProCurve 4000M?
I would like to write a program that monitors network activity and then cut access to a specific port if a rule is broken.
I know that the web interface uses a java applet, did HP make an API that is availible to the public?

Avrom -

No, there is no java api to the Switch.

You should be able to use the switch's SNMP/MIB interface to accomplish your goal.
