J9309A + J9285B +NetXtreme II BCM57711 NO LINK HOST

HELLO I have a server connected to dual port SFP+ NetXtreme II BCM57711 10-Gigabit NIC to a HP J9309A ProCurve 4-Port 10GbE SFP+ zl Module
using a HP ProCurve 10-GbE SFP+ 7m Direct Attach Cable (J9285B) and I do not get in on the server link. Does anyone know if the j9285b is compatible with Broadcom?

Did you find an answer for this? I am running into the exact same problem.

Thanks

The J9285b is not a Direct Attached cable so i don;t thik that will work, however we have similar issue with the J9300a direct attched cable.

Seems this SFP+ cable issue is one that almost noone has any information on.

If you get any further information on this i think it will help not only us but maybe a few people trying this new medium out.

Yes, it is. I have exactly the same setup. However, your BCM57711 driver might not be recent enought. For example bnx2x shipped in Linux kernels older than 2.6.36 needs patching: http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6.git;a=commitdiff_plain;h=1ab6c163dee279559e3a62d774af7e4c4c9b4c67

Dunno about windows driver but should be similar.

Re: J9309A + J9285B +NetXtreme II BCM57711 NO LINK HOST

It turned out that the server we had installed the BCM57711 in was not supported by the card. It apparently was a voltage issue. We returned it, installed an Intel card (that was supported) and got a link light right away.
