MAC-to-switchPort mapping

I wander what Windows 2K tool should I use (if there is something like this) to obtain a MAC-to-switchPort mapping for HP Procurve 4000M and 8000M switches. Could "HP TopTools for Hubs and Switches" help me on this one?

Toptools should do it. Look under Inventory Reports in the online help if you already have a copy.

There are lots of other ways. You can telnet to the switch, logon and just ask it with the menu (Main Menu/Status and Counters/Port Address Table) or command line (show bridge [port-number]). You can browse to it and pull up the page.

You can also use ICMP to get the info. I use a little freeware program called getif.exe which will query a switch and give me the value of any ICMP MIB that it knows. (A complete HP MIB file is available at: http://www.hp.com/cgi-bin/cposupport/swindex.pl?p=mibsforhps11110&l=en&c=MIB).There are many others.
