Mac flaps, ways to prevent

The other day I encountered a weird condition from a simple internetrouter being used only as a switch and accesspoint, it started duplicating mac addresses back the orginating port, which put the whole vlan down.

What options is there in Procurve switches, (we have two switches, 2600 and 2800 series) to counter this? From the uplink there is a lot of mac coming in, so the port-security with max 8 addresses sounds limited. Something like "this mac was first seen on this port, thus block it from any other port for a certain time" function.

I guess you can use MacLockdown feature to achieve your objective to some extent.
This would lock specified macaddress to the desired port
