Member cannot join stack

I am trying to add a switch to the stack by using command stack join
when i do a show stack, member status: Join Failure: undiscoverd.

I have double checked the mac-address of the commander ok.

Please advise...!

can it be the "undiscovered" switch does not support stacking?

please specify the models.

otherwise there may not be a matching vlan for the stack master to communicate with the member.
