Monitoring via SNMP
I am currently testing SNMP monitoring with my ProCurve 2910al's and Cacti
I am trying to monitoring an entire VLAN I waited 10 minutes and still nothing I just wanted to know if I am doing something wrong here?
And is it possible to monitor CPU usage on the ProCurve?
Thanks

Re: Monitoring via SNMP
For CPU usage, you can check quering the scalar 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.5.1.9.6.1 - have to double check if that's available in 2910's..

Re: Monitoring via SNMP
The VLAN "interfaces" aren't real interfaces hence there are no traffic counters associated with them.

http://forums.cacti.net/about4143.html
Or you can just modify the existing "Cisco CPU usage" data templates which is what I did as we don't have any Cisco devices in our network :)
To that :
- Go to the Cacti web interface -> Console
- Select "Data Templates"
- Select "Cisco Router - 5 Minute CPU"
- Near the end of the page edit the OID to the one Javed kindly provided (note it requires a leading "." as per the exisiting OID)
Then :
- Select Devices
- Select the device you want to graph cpu usage for
- Select "Create graphs for this Host"
- Under "graph templates" select "Cisco CPU usage"
- Click on the "create" button down the bottom of the page
- Wait 15 minutes and check your graph :)
