Multiple Vlans using one Internet connection

Hiya,

I have 2 HP Procurve 2524 switches. I am trying to set up 8 vlans for 8 seperate offices which all use the same internet connection. the internet connection comes in through a D-Link Dsl router and then cisco pix firewall (515e). at the moment i can set the the vlans up fine - but none of them can get out on to the internet. i have tried creating an extra vlan for the internet connection and sharing this but i have no luck. when i do this i cant ping the firewall. can any one help? or has anybody any suggestions?

thanks

Rav

Re: Multiple Vlans using one Internet connection

Hi.

You should set the port which connects to the router TAGGED to all VLANs. Of course, the router and firewall must understand IEEE 802l.1Q VLAN tagging.

Not being able to ping the PIX means prob on switch, unless you blocked ICMP stuff on the firewall, which you didn't I guess...
If your PIX is front of the LAN (router is behind), you should TAG PIX LAN address to all VLANs...
