Is it JD493A and J4858B is same product?

Hi,
from technology point of view yes, both are 1Gb SX SFP transceivers. But they are from different branches (3Com acquisiton) and you have to be carefull where you want to use it because of signature control.
JD493A came from 3Com and now this product is discontinued. J4858B is from ProVision (ex-ProCurve) family and the B revision (last letter in PN) is End of Sale because of new C revision available (J4858C).
In ex-ProCurve switches you should use ProCurve transceivers (the switches control SFP signatures). Ex-3Com, ex-H3C stuff is more tolerant and you can use any HP transceiver or even third party products (you probably see error in log that transceivers are not supported, but they work).
