Network freezing periodically
We have a 2824 'core' switch that connects another 10 procurve 2524 switches.
For no apparent reason all HP desktops running XPSP2 froze for approximately 2 minutes on the floor I was working on. Then all was fine.
There was no network disconnection icon in the bottom right hand corner.
All switches have the latest firmware.
Any ideas of what would be causing this would be great.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Network freezing periodically
check the logs of the 2824 and the 2524 to see if there are cabling problems.
and see if spanning tree had changes the last hours.

Re: Network freezing periodically
Thanks for the tips. No errors mentioned in the procurve logs, nor on the Domain Controller event logs or clients.
Spanning tree is disabled. No vlan's apart from the default, using combo of cat3/cat5, no fibre runs up/down the building, only cat5.
