Not able tor prevent sending on "Informational" events

Hi all,

I 'm trying to prevent the sending of all informational events from the switches to PCM+3.x by using the command:
- snmp-server host x.x.x.x "public" not-info

First deleted the line:
- snmp-server host x.x.x.x "public"

However after a day or so this line reappears in the running and startup config.
This is true for all models we use 26xx,28xx,42xx,56xx,66xx.

Any one ideas?

If you go into the Agent manager in PCM, under discovery.

Untick the option:
Automatically Register as trap receiver for new devices.

If that doesn't work, something strange is going on.

This might be a stupid question, but i assume you did the "write memory" command?

No, not a stupid question. It happens to all of us now and then. But not this time however. :)

I think your suggestion/solution will do the trick. I 'll try and let you know.

Your solution did the trick.
No more sneaky reappearing command :).

However I still keep receiving Informational events - Link active on port xx message.

I've been crunching my memory, as I have had this question asked by a customer about three moths ago. And I know we found the solution, after some trail-and-error. I also know we have documented the required config, but obviously, I didn't save a copy on my notebook. As usual.

No PCM-server/ProCurve switches at hand to test, but I am quite sure that

fault-finder loss-of-link sensitivity low

should get you at least in the right direction.
