I have opened a case with ProCurve support in Europe, case #1212254861.
So far, the case hasn't come further than this thread, but then the case was just opened the other day.

Today I've actually only seen one of these "spikes". None of the ports I changed to "polling" have misreported, and none of the 3 2626-switches I added yesterday have done so either.
