PCM didn`t find switch

I have one problem. I can ping a switch from my client (win xp pro) without any problems, but the HP ProCurve Manager, which is installed on the same system (server and agent) displays the folling message if I run the manuel device discovery wizard:

Read community name faild, operation time out
Unable to communicate with device *.*.*.*

Please check it up the community string.
SNMP communication have a problem.

the snmp-community is at both systems "public"

it`s solved :) the problem was because of a litle misstake in a firewall :) Thanks 2all
