Passive interface

Is there a way on the hp 5300 series switches to prevent the l3 switch from sending routing updates through a particular interface.

Re: Passive interface

>>> RIP is not intended for use in WAN applications <<<

adjusting the metric and limiting may be the closest thing to what you want
>>>
ProCurve(config)# vlan 1
ProCurve(vlan-1)# ip rip metric 5
ProCurve(rip)# default-metric 4

Re: Passive interface

rip send rip packet determined network

for example
router rip
network 10.0.10.0

procurve switch unable passive inteface

procurve switch send all interface (include 10.0.10.0 network)rip packet

rip use already separate vlan in this way unreachable rip packet other switch port

cenk
