ProCurve J9088A Switch 2610-48

I have a closet that has (1) 2610-24/12PWR and (2) 2610-48 switches. The PWR is the uplink switch and the others are daisy chained down for that switch. The issue that I'm experiencing is that the middle switch (the 1st 2610-48 switch, 2nd switch in the stack) will not respond to pings or snmp. The confusing part is that the 1st switch (2610-24/12 PWR) and the 3rd (2nd 2610-48) switch respond to ping and snmp. I can telnet to the 3rd switch just fine. I have to go through the problem switch to get to the 3rd switch. Another note is that I can plug into the 2nd switch and get out. It's just not responding to pings or snmp (my monitoring software).

Thanks!

I also have the switches at the most recent firmware.

Sounds like a mistake in the config somewhere. Would you attach those?

Yes, I will but I cant right now. I'm not there. I should also say that when I reboot the switch, it will work fine. I have other switches in other closets doing the same thing. This is just one closet that I choose to explain. After the reboot, it will respond.

Hey,

This particular switch has spanning tree disable.

I looked at the link and yes this seems to be the issue but this switch has spanning-tree disabled.

Stack? Are you using HP's Stacking feature? That would prevent any direct access to slave switches on the "stack".

NO. They are not in a stack. I meant a physical stack of 3. Sorry.
