Problem of cdp with SwitchHP 5308xl

Hi Friends,
i have installed the switch in the subject, but i have some problem with cdp protocol. In the network installed i have a second switch that is the same of the first, they are connected directly by a sraight-throuh cable but they are unable to speack with cdp protocol. What can be the problem? all works good but no other hp's switch can see that switch in cdp.

CDP is not supported anymore, it's cisco feature. You may have 2 switches with different firmware version, older supported CDP.

but in the feature of the switch, I can choose to run CDP protocol by the command line, so i thought it was possible to run CDP. Where can i find information about it?

use LLDP instead, it's standard protocol for device discovery.
I have E.10.37 firmware and CDP is not available. Use show ver command

i have E.10.23! i try with LLDP. is the same as CDP? is worse or better than CDP?

LLDP provides a standards-based method for enabling the switches to advertise themselves to adjacent devices and to learn about adjacent LLDP devices.
