Problem with 3com 5500G and Microsoft NLB cluster

Hi all,

I have a microsoft cluster NLB formed by 2 servers. S1 10.0.4.1/24 S2 10.0.4.2/24  The NLB cluster has the 10.0.4.10/24 ip  in multicast mode. The servers belong to the vlan 100.

In the 3com

1º)undo arp check enable to can learn multicast addresses

2º)arp static 10.0.4.10 03bf-0a00-049d to add a static with the IP and mac address of the cluster.

3º)mac-address multicast 03bf-0a00-049d vlan 100 on the 2 ports that connect to the servers.

The ping to the 10.0.4.10 only works in the switch that connect the 2 servers. The 10.0.4.10 is unreachable from the other servers of the 10.0.4.0/24 network(vlan 100) and any host or switch of other networks.

Could you help me? Thanks¡

I think you may need your core switch(/router) that does your layer3 function to have this on it:

ip arp-mcast-replies
