Procrurve Manager Configuration Status screen blank

Hi there

I cant see any details on the PCM Configuration status page, after a fresh install it worked for a day but now it is just a grey block. I through it was the updates that applied so I re-installed from scratch and did not apply new updates but the same thing happened, it worked for a day and then came up blank again.

I have now done a full update from the web but it still persists. It does the same from the server or a remote client.

Anyone have an idea what it could be?

thanks

Re: Procrurve Manager Configuration Status screen blank

I assume you mean the "Configuration Management Status" window?

BTW which PCM version do you have?

Also let know what are the settings in Tools>Preferences>Global>Configuration Management window

Re: Procrurve Manager Configuration Status screen blank

Hi

I am running PCM 3.0 with the latest updates applied.
Yes I am referring to the Configuration status window

Configuration Management under tools:
Max config per device 0
Remove configurations older than 0 months
Scan 5 devices in parallel
send CLI to 5 devices..

Use TFTP, FTP

All settings are actually as default..

Can you attach the file
\server\config\fwuSchedule.prp

Also helpful would be FWU-server*.log files from \server\logs

==> where you have installed the PCM server.

And are you seeing this only if you attempt software upgrade to particular devices or you see it for any device -> select software update wizard -> schedule ?

Re: Procrurve Manager Configuration Status screen blank

Hi

If i schedule a firmware update I want to be able to track the progress and see the outcome.
I see it for any device, even if i try and see the schedule i get the grey window.
I have attached the file but can only do 1 log file as the others are all over 1 meg in size.

One more thing I need to mention is that I am running Procurve manager on a Windows 2003 server running on VM. Could this be an issue?

VMware is supported but with some conditions:
1) VMWare system is running ESX V3.5.
2)System hardware is used for PCM purposes only.
3)1 PCM server can support a maximum of 4 Agents, including local and remote Agents. Better performance can be achieved if a local Agent is not running on the PCM
server.
4) For PCM server: the supported configuration is : MS Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Edition (Service
Pack 2) running as guest operating system.

Re: Procrurve Manager Configuration Status screen blank

the attached files did not indicate much, but a hunch is that the window is failing to launch because of invalid 'device' entry.

So would like to check w/ you
a) Did you schedule any firmware upgrade on a device ( say X) and then had it deleted from PCM?
b) Did you attempt any re-assigning of devices to agents ( move subnets across Agents?).

If we have a look at the Cs-err*.log and Cs-out*.log, the above could be confirmed as well. If sharing the log is a problem due to the huge size, you could possibly put it on some ftp location and share..

I have seen the condition(a) causes the "empty grey window' problem sometimes..
