Procurve 1800 VLAN Member issue.
Dear Sirs,
I have couple 1800-24G with latest firmware.
But I am confused with VLAN Member.
VLAN Setup
VLAN 1 with all member ports (1-24)
VLAN 8 with member ports 8,20,21,22,23,24
VLAN Port Configure
Port 8
VLAN aware Enabled,
Packet Type = ALL,
PVID = 8
Port 21
VLAN aware Enabled,
Packet Type = ALL,
PVID = 1
If the Packet Type is set to All, the port can accept incoming tagged and untagged packets. Untagged packets will be associated with the VLAN identified by the PVID. Tagged packets will be dropped unless the port is a member of the VLAN identified by the VLAN tag in the packet.
Since Port 8 is both the member of VLAN 1 and 8.
The PCs link to Port 8 should be able to link to Port 21.
But I can not get the link up.
What I need is for PCs under port 5 - 19 can only access PCs under ports 20-24
ie port 5 can link to 20-24 and port 6 can link to port 20-24 but port 5 can not link to port 6.
Would you please advise how to do?
Best Regards

Re: Procurve 1800 VLAN Member issue.
what you describe to do , sounds like "port based acl".
the 1800 won't do that.
the 1800 won't do that.
