I am trying to configure a voice vlan and a data vlan with one router on an hp procurve 2626 switch.
We will have the workstations plugged into the mitel phones and the phones plugged into the switch. Both Vlans will be active on the same port.
I have created two vlans and assigned them IPS and enabled IP routing.
VLAN 1 Default_vlan 10.1.40.0 255.255.255.0
IP 10.1.40.9
VLAN 2 Voice 10.1.41.0 255.255.255.0
IP 10.1.41.9
router 10.1.40.1
I have enable IP routing.
How do I set up the ports on the switch so that the voice lan gets priority.
Also I will plug the router into port 1 and the mitel phone switch on port 24..How do I setup those ports?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
cheers
Barry

Re: Procurve 2626 switch configuration for MITEL voip
So if I understand this ..
IP ROUTING
I have enabled ip routing
(the router resides on my data network)
I have used the routers physical ip as my gateway on the data network. I have setup 2 IPs on the switch. One for each vlan.
I have used the switches Voice VLAN IP as the gateway on the voice network. I have added a static route on the procurve switch for my voice vlan pointing to the router
Tagging
I have set the data vlan as the default vlan
I have untagged data vlan on all ports
I have tagged the voice vlan on all ports
VOIP switch CX port - untag port for Voice vlan - do I set this port to be in the VOICE VLAN only or just untag both vlans?
Router port
untag Do I set this port to be in the data VLAN only or do I just untag all vlans?
QOS
I have run an hp command on the voice vlan from the CLI called "voice"
I will check the commands for setting QoS priority 7 for voice vlan on the switch ports..So in the server NIC settings do I set qos for 7? do I set all ports on the switch for QOS or just the phone switches?
Thanks for your help.. Ireally do appreciate it!

Re: Procurve 2626 switch configuration for MITEL voip
As an alternative you can connect the Mitel to port 24 which is untagged in VLAN 2, and the DHCP-server to port 1 which is untagged in VLAN 1.
In the DHCP-server you define:
- option 130, name "IP phone DHCP Server", value "MITEL IP PHONE"
- option 132, name "VLAN ID for the voice LAN", value 0x2
- option 133, name "Priority", value 0x6
On the Mitel you define the DHCP-server with the right properties and on the switch you define all ports untagged in VLAN1 and tagged in VLAN2
In this case you have the Mitel deliver the IP-adresses for the phones and the server the adresses for the PC's, and you don't have to enable IP routing between the voice- and the data vlans.
Cheers, Auke.
