Procurve 2810 J9022A - No connection through serial port

Dear all,

we got two new 2810 J9022A. Initial configuration over serial port worked fine. One of these switches seems has to be a bad IP setting, because it not reachable over network. So I tried to connect through serial port but both new switches are not responding at this port. Trying a connection from the same the client to older procurves with s dsub serial connector was successfully. Restart or kill command didn't help. Any suggestions or ideas?

make sure that there is no loop on these 2 switches,
reboot will solve the access for now.

Thanks for the hint, I'll check this. That's a point I did not yet considered. But has it influence to serial port connection?

IF there is a loop the switch will hang and you will not be able to access it, check the LEDs on the switch while this is happenning, if all LEDs are solid green then there is a loop.

can you post the topology diagram, also just for check is the STP enabled ?

The affected switches are server switch 4 and 5. STP is enabled on all switches. I shutdown switch 4 1 hour ago, but with no success. Vlan A is working an all switches, only vlan c between switch 4 and 5 has no connect (link test). But this might be a FC problem between two buildings.

make sure the uplink ports on all of the switches are tagged for all the vlans (a,b and c)

Vlan c is not routed to the core switches, but I'll catch up this settings.

I turned off switch 4, but I didn't get a connection to switch 5 at serial port.
