Procurve 4000m restore Config help
Well I want to configure the spare 4000m with the config from my production 4000m. So I factory reset the spare switch and got it on the network. I proceeded to upload the config via TFTP and the GET command. The spare switch rebooted and I unplugged the network cable as to not cause major issues. The spare switch did not boot all the way... goes thru the initializing process it hangs at a prompt with a "white block" or "double tilde" and the cursor just flashes.
Any idea? Am I doing something wrong? My space 4000m has only a single 8-port 100/100 module and my production level as 9 x 8-port 10/100 modules and a single 1000-base FX module. Would this be causing the problem?
I sure would appreciate some insight.

Re: Procurve 4000m restore Config help
First, revise both switches have same Firmware Version, and if its posiible, the last one.
after this, reset the new 4000 and test all is OK.
If you have specific configuration in ports that new 4000 hasnt, could be a warning, but it must boot.
Can you post config?

Re: Procurve 4000m restore Config help
You have a large configuration, in this case you can use PCM (Procurve Manager) to take this config to install in new switch.
If your problems persists, talk with HP, this swithes have lifetime warranty.
