Procurve 4108Gl Firmware

Hi,

I have 2 4108 GL switches and 5 2524 switches. I am using Procurve manager and I cannot update the firmware on the switches. I have bought a 20 port 1000mb module therefore I need to upgrade to 7.50 but I get an error
Firmware update: Error
Any suggestions?

Use the old-fashioned Command Line Interface and tftp capabilities of the switch to perform the upgrades.

read the release notes, often it is necessarily to make a between update.

Are you behind a proxy? If yes make sure that you configure it in the preferances.

Hi,

I finally bit the bullet and used hyperterminal and XModem. It was surprisingly easy, if a little frightening. It would be easier if HP hadnt printed a mistake on the command line in the firmware docs. I had to remove the PS from the end of the line before it worked but now it works great and I will upgrade all my switches. I just needed the confidence to use something which I was not used to, ie Xmodem and hyperterminal.
