Procurve 5300 series link is comming up too slow

we have a new dell's and Procurve 5300 series switch (Software 10.03).When we start computer, switch link is comming up too slow and computer won't run logon script because there is no ip-address.After logoff and logon everythink is working. What could be wrong in HP Procurve settings ?

Re: Procurve 5300 series link is comming up too slow

So your Dell servers are configured to get a DCHP address from a DHCP server is this correct

Are all other servers working fine ?

or is this a complete new setup?

Re: Procurve 5300 series link is comming up too slow

Ron,

Dell's are laptops and using dhcp. Procurves are about 3 years old.I have one few month old procurve and there is no problem, same softwares in both switch. Could that be ASIC problem ?

Are you certain that is fact?

My guess is your problem is the OS feature, Windows Fast Logon Optimization. Is your logon script a GPO or legacy script? GPO scripts are unaffected by that feature. Try enabling the RunLogonScriptSync GPO setting.

None the less, you should be disabling LACP on the switch ports serving laptop and desktop PCs.

Re: Procurve 5300 series link is comming up too slow

Do you have spanning tree enabled ?

Perhaps you need to set the host ports to fast mode, so that they don't go through Blocking - Listening - Learning - before bring the port up.
