Procurve 5496 switch - odd port statistics problem
Hi,
I'm running a 5496 as my main core. I've been noticing some rather odd behavior with the port statistics.
I log into the switch via telnet, and lookup a port (show int j15 for example). I get the port information with a bunch of drops showing.
I issue the command clear statistics j15, go back into the port view, and the counters are all back to zero.
i log out, log back in, the error port count has gone exactly to the previous count. I can do this over and over again with the same result.
running K.14.41
any ideas?

Re: Procurve 5496 switch - odd port statistics problem
Hi,
This was supposed to be fixed in one of the K13. releases.
I've just tried in on one of our 5406's running K14.41 and it does the same.
If you run a "clear stat global" that will permenantly reset all the port counters.

Funny, I have the same problem. I am going to search the forum before I start a new thread next time :) http://forums13.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1411102
