What do you mean by: No IPs required ? you mean NAT ?

I don't think its possible to make the ProCurve SR Router/Firewall acting in L2 or transparent mode.
With advanced routers that has Intrusion Detection feature and Multiple Security Zones its possible like Juniper, Fortinet ones.
Anyway, if you have currently a ProCurve firewall, and you want to achieve something in your network, please share it with us, and hopefully we will find a solution for it.
