Procurve MIB - Retrieval of Model No
Hi,
First time on this forum so please excuse me if anything is in the wrong place.
I am currently working for an extremely large organisation and need a method by which we can obtain all procurve switch model numbers easily. I have done this in the past with other vendors by using MIB's and SNMP.
Can anyone recommend how I go about this on Procurve?
Thanks
NJ

Hello NJ,
Perhaps this is what you're looking for?
http://h40060.www4.hp.com/procurve/includes/software/index.php?cc=uk&lc=de&content=mibs-mar08
Hope that helps :) if you need newer MIBs you might have to contact support.

Re: Procurve MIB - Retrieval of Model No
Hi Justin,
Thanks for coming back to me so quickly.
Would you be able to find out which MIB I would need to use to retrieve the model number of the remote switches?
Thanks

Re: Procurve MIB - Retrieval of Model No
Hi,
you can use :
1.3.6.1.2.1.1.1.0
which gives you the model and the softwareversion of the switch.

Re: Procurve MIB - Retrieval of Model No
That works great Alexander. Thanks.
Would you happen to know the OID for getting the base mac address for a switch also?
Thanks,
NJ

Re: Procurve MIB - Retrieval of Model No
Sure,
it's hpSwitchbaseMACAddress.0 or
1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.5.1.1.6.0
