Procurve Manager not seeing events from switches

Running PCM+ Ver. A.01.09 on W2K server SP3. I have 2 of 5308xl, 1 of 4104gl, bunches of 2524 switches. All switches have the latest firmware.

PCM is not seeing any events from any switch. Any activity originating in PCM is seen (policy enforcement, etc.) When I use the Web Access, each switch shows any event that happened to it.

Server can communicate with all switches with all utilities (Device Manager, Web Access, telnet). SNMP Community strings are all set the same. Server is listed in all switches as Trap Reciever and Authorized Manager. HP ProCurve Datastore, HP ProCurve Network Manager Server, SNMP and SNMP Trap services are all running.

Can anybody clue me in as to what I've got configured wrong?

TIA.

Re: Procurve Manager not seeing events from switches

Hi,

You need to stop the SNMP Trap service that is running in Windows.

Thanks, Mohamed, that did the trick.

The switch port in which the PC plugs - is it a Network Monitoring port?

Re: Procurve Manager not seeing events from switches

No I don't have it on a Network Monitoring port. As I understand it, an NM port will echo ALL traffic from selected VLANs or other ports on the switch. Since SNMP is a broadcasted service, it automatically propagates through the switches.
