Procurve VOIP QOS Help

Hello,

I'm new to VOIP and QOS, and need some help getting things setup. We are in the process of moving fully to VOIP and we got new Procurve gear for upgrading our core and wan (we are also in the process of installing a Cox TLAN/MetroE from previous point to point)

Currently all data and voip traffic is not segmented in any way.

The part of the network that I need VOIP/QOS help is:

Core Main Site: 5412zl
|
|
TLAN/Metro-E Edge at Main Site: 3500yl-48g Premium License
|
|
TLAN/Metor-E Sites: 7102dl routers

I believe all tagging is supposed to be allowed through the Cox TLAN

Currently on the 3500 I just have routing enabled and 2 VLANs setup:

Port 48: VLAN 100 - goes into Cox's Nortel gear for connecting to sites

Port 1: VLAN 200 goes into main sites switches for management and default route for remote sites

What would the simplest way to prioritize voip traffic on all these guys?

I've been reading the advance traffic manual but I'm starting to confuse myself :).

Thanks alot,
Devin

Re: Procurve VOIP QOS Help

Hello,

I've been doing more reading and it looks to me the easiest way to implement QOS will be with Layer 4/Port numbers. Both the 3500yl and 7102dl seem to support.

Does anyone have a configuration example that I could check out?

Thanks,

Devin
