ROUTER + VPN SERVER

Hi,

For a customer of mine I am looking for a ROUTER wich also acts as a ADSL Annex A modem, and has the possibility to be a VPN SERVER. It is important the device can serve and manage VPN logins.

Hi

The ProCurve Secure Router 7000 series, has an ADSL Annex A interface and it has also a VPN capabilities.

It can manage VPN if you have Site to Site, and also if you have Remote users by the use of the VPN Client.

Managing VPN logins can be done with the integration with help of RADIUS (or TACACS+) and Active Directory also.

Thanks for the answer concerning the router. The device would be for a small business with only one Proliant server and three clients. I think the procurve 7000 series is a little over the edge.

Doesn't HP or another manufacturer build something alike with a smaller price?

Which VPN protocol(s) you intend to use (PPTP, IPsec, SSL etc)? Solution may depends on a protocol you choose.

For such scenario, i suggest you the Juniper Netscreen 5GT-ADSL, its really a very powerful router/Firewall with IPSEC VPN.
