Radius Question

I know windows 2003 standard has a limit of 50 users in radius... (Little known fact)

Windows 2003 Enterprise doesnt really have a limit...

I dont have 2003 enterprise...

I do have plenty of 2000 servers...

Does anyone know the limit of radius users in server 2000?

The reason i ask is I'm researching 802.1x port based authentication....

Re: Radius Question

Radius is service not database stores user accounts. it just send and receive between the switchs and the AD for authentication.

Re: Radius Question

As far as i know off the top of my head, there is no limitation on the number of users in Windows 2000 Radius.

What versions of Windows 2000 Server are you running?

I would say that running IAS on Windows 2000 will be fine for your needs, the only thing you will probably have to worry about is performance of the Win2k box if you really intend to nail it with thousands of requests.

What sort of size rollout are you planning?
