Reboot ESXi host causes vlan flapping on J4903A Switch 2824 Software I.10.70

Hi, we are experiencing a strange 100% reproducible issue.

When we reboot a VMware ESXi 5 host, and as it comes back on the network, we are seeing one of our older feed switches:

ProCurve J4903A Switch 2824
Software revision I.10.70

log a lot of "VLANXYZ virtual LAN enabled" (for 6-7 different vlans)

At the same time, we have 4 NTI Enviromux devices which drop off the network until the vlan messages stop

Anyone seen this behaviour before?

Any ideas how to debug?

thanks!

We determined the root cause - I wrote up the solution here:
