I have two HP2610 connected over fibre link at a customer. I am connected with the customer over VPN.
Since the first switch has a static IP set, I can easily log on and configure the switch with telnet.
Do anyone know how i can log on the second switch?
I do not know whether the second switch has an IP or not.
Is there a way to configure the second switch?

SolutionYou can read the Mac address off the label, then look at the DHCP server, see what IP it has allocated.
If you have a direct connection between the switches, you can pull the IP from "show lldp info remote all".
Finally, you could enable the switch you have access to as a stack commander.

Re: Remote Login on HP 2610 Switch without known IP address
Thank you for your help guys!
If you have a direct connection between the switches, you can pull the IP from "show lldp info remote all".
-> doesn't show any info
What do you mean with direct connection? is a fibre cabel a direct connection?

Re: Remote Login on HP 2610 Switch without known IP address
If the two switches are connected via a fibre, and you are using fibre transceivers, they should be able to see each other via LLDP.
If you have intermediate boxes, or your fibre goes through some external 'cloud', you may not.
