Routing on 2626 series.

Hi all,

Got an basic question, that got me bothered. Currebtly we got 5 2626 in one VLAN, with one dsl router for internet, and one sdsl router that does VPN between our shops. The default gateway is the dsl router, and that has an static route for the networks that go over the vpn (e.g. 192.168.2.0/24 > 192.168.1.1 as gateway)

When our dsl modem goes down, all host loose their routing info for the networks that go over the vpn. Is it better to add the route to our 2626's, and remove the static route from our dsl router?

why dont you set the default route to the sdls router with a route of last resourt to the dsl router. therefore any traffic not destined for the shops will route out your dsl router

Just add the static route to the 2626's. It shouldn't hurt to leave the route on the DSL router.
