SMLT and redundancy

I want to create a redundant backbone switch environment. As a attachment I have added a design of the environment I want to create.

If I am well informed, the backbone switches need to support SMLT (Split Multi-Link Trunking). Am I correct?

Should I team both nic adapters on the proliant server?

Which Procurve switch models can be used as the backbone switches?

Thanks in advance
