SNMP TRAP on Procurve 2524
I have configured a procurve 2524 for sending all the traps. The probleme is I have on my NMS (SNMPc) a lot of traps which specifie an URL (type:hpicfFaultFinderTrap). I know that trap means there is a new event in the log. Can I have the event description at the place of the URL. Is it a MIB compilation problem or is it normal?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: SNMP TRAP on Procurve 2524
This looks like a Trap Receiver Configuration issue.
See page 6-17 and 6-18 in the latest manual:
Management and Configuration Guide for the HP Procurve Switches 1600M, 2424M, 4000M, and 8000M
(September 1999)
on http://www.hp.com/rnd/support/manuals/8000_4000_2424.htm
It looks like the default is None which means send no logs. If you change it to ALL or Not INFO it might work better for you.
If that doesn't help then make sure you have the latest MIBS in your NMS.
