Setting up user id on Procurve Switches

When I telnet onto a handful of my procurve switches it doesn't prompt for a user id. I just enter a password. How do you setup a user id, as most of my switches have a user id. There doesn't seem to be a way of doing this in the password management options. Is it hidden away in the command line interface somewhere?

You just need to use the user-name option:

ProCurve Switch(config)# password manager user-name

It will then prompt you to set the password.

Spot on, thanks for that. Isn't there a way through the menu interface? I just don't remember going through that command line option when I set the others that's all, unless there was already a default user ID there.
