Spanning Tree question
I'm running RSTP on a 5308xl. I do not want BPDUs to be sent out of one of the ports. Is this possible? How do I configure that? Or if you know any neat tricks to achieve that, please share!!!
If a problem can be fixed, there's nothing to worry. If a problem can't be fixed, worrying ain't gonna help. Bottom line: don't worry.

Re: Spanning Tree question
Hwee,
You can't do it using switch configuration. This would defeat the STP purpose of avoiding loops in bridged environments, so I am sure no STP implementor wrote code to stop BPDU frames going out selected ports.
If BPDUs bug you, you might consider running STP periodically, for 12-24 hours after a topology change, to ensure that you don't have a loop. Or start STP when your network gets sluggish and you have sound reasons to believe there is a looping going on.

Re: Spanning Tree question
Hi!
the only one way for minimization stp influence is the "edge-port" parameter in rstp.
