Re: Study Material

If you are standing on HP road you can follow this way: http://www.hp.com/rnd/training/tech_training.htm

If you are Cisco adapted use this road-map: http://www.cisco.com/web/learning/le3/le2/le0/le9/learning_certification_type_home.html

Each course have official courseware. You can borrow somewhere (coleges, partners, internet).
There are other sourses of the books as well.

You can also use interactive trainings - tahy are good enought for beginers (KNET, LearnKey)

Re: Study Material

Diuring any HP course you will get a book. You also can ask a local HP Reps. If you will be good enought thay will give you one for free or minimal fee.
HP courseware books are good enought on Ethernet tecnologies and HP products.

If you want get a start in networking I gecomend you this book: CCNA: Cisco Certified Network Associate Study Guide, 5th Edition (640-801) by Todd Lammle (Paperback - Feb 11, 2005)
