Telnet
Surpringly, I can see in the log the following message:
I 11/15/04 14:54:36 mgr: SME TELNET from 156.153.78.192 - MANAGER Mode
The IP address 156.153.78.192 is not known, and I can see nothing about this traffic into my firewall logs.
Moreover, it seems this appears when I connect from the stack commander to one of the other switches.
Is someone know more about this?

Re: Telnet
Does this mean that the commander switch uses this IP address to connect to the other switches?

Re: Telnet
I have the some ip adress showing up in the logs when i try to connect from stack commander to an other switch. I am running 3848 switches. Is this a bug or is it by design?

Re: Telnet
It is intended (or at least known) -
When switches are stacked, they communicate by this internal-only IP address within the stack, which is an HP IP.
