Test VLAN in Procurve Network
Hi,
There is 60 pieces of procurve switch for us our device in company.
These are in 2 rings.(Spanning Tree)
We would like it on devices far from each other VLAN-t to create. (for example TEST VLAN)
Test:
If two are switchet join into direct one works if the big one is a network as his part then no.
On device passing through all of them necessary it TAGGED/UNTAGGED statement?
Where the mistake?
Thanks,
ragard
Steve

Find it hard to understand. Perhaps a diagram?

Re: Test VLAN in Procurve Network
Hi,
Please Look at the attachment in first message.
We would like a new VLAN between the ports of switches far from each other.
We would like:
200 PC in default VLAN
5 PC IN TEST VLAN
Let the members of 2 VLAN not see each other
On the 2 devices set VLAN.OK
Is needed set VLAN, TAGGED... in the others switch?
Thanks

Re: Test VLAN in Procurve Network
The test vlan needs to be configured at all switches and the links between the switches need to be tagged to the test vlan and the testpcs need to be untagged in the test vlan.
As long as you don't configure ip routing or ip adresses on the switch with ip routing enabled the vlans can't talk to each other..
