can any one tell how set time & time syncronization on HP Procurve switches

TimeP and SNTP are the options you have with ProCurve switches.

What network time protocol are you trying to implement? Everything should be in the product manuals but we can help with further clarification if you can narrow your issue down a bit further.

if i implement SNTP protocol, how do i set i setup a sntp server, is this a seperate server dedicated to sntp or any pc in the subnet set as a sntp service running.

The answer is dependent upon how you've setup time synchronization in your environment, have a look at the article below and it may clarify some things for you.

Can't comment on the difference between SNTP vs TimeP as I haven't come across a TimeP implementation before.

If you just want to sync time to a server or workstation, have a look at the following utility:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/nettime/

Be aware though it is not designed for use under Windows 2003.
