Trunk two 4000M

We have a 4000M connecting the office (users, server, port to WAN) with 10-10/100 Base T Modules (PC1). We have had to branch one of the pipes through a linkSys to accomodate more users. We have two more 4000M in hand and would like to set them up to trunk to the existing 4000M and do away with the linkSys device. In order to test the configuration, we are trying to port the two new 4000M before we connect to the existing 4000M. We have 10-100/10Base T modules in one of the new 4000M (PC2) and 9-100/10Base T modules and 1-Gigabit SX module in the other new 4000M (PC3). We have connected using the switch console and configured PC2 IP address as 10.137.14.2 and PC3 as 10.137.14.3. We configured PC3 ports I5, I6, I7, I8 as Trk1. We configured PC2 ports A5, A6, A7, A8 as Trk1. When we connect the 4 ports and try to ping PC3 from a device on PC2 all that we get is timeout. What are we doing wrong?

Are you running VLANs? If so, how are they tagged?

No, we are not using VLANs. The only VLAN in the system is the DEFAULT_VLAN from the factory default.
