VLAN across a procurve 2524 & 4000M?

Hi! Is it possible to setup a VLAN with some ports from a HP Procurve 2524 switch and some from a Procurve 4000M switch? The two switches are currently connected via a 100Mbps ethernet cable. I also have them stacked together (whatever that does :/). I can easily setup a VLAN on one switch or the other, but I am not sure if I can use ports from both for the same VLAN. Anyone have an answer? Any help MUCH appreciated. Thanks for reading!

Hi Levi,

What you want is possible.
Just create the VLAN on both switches, and then make the ports that connect both switches a tagged member of that VLAN.
For the 2524, it would look like this, if VLAN 10 is the VLAN, and port 24 is connected to the 4000M switch:

2524#conf
2524(config)#vlan 10
2524(vlan-10)#tagged 24

The process is the same for the 4000m switch, but it uses a menu interface only, and since I don't have a 4000m readily available, just browse through the menu's.
It's easy now you know what to do.
