VLAN integration

Recently i bought 2 procurve 2900-24g and i want to integrate with existing Intel Express Switch 550T (installed on 2002).
Main problem is that I can't make procurve manager to see VLAND configured on Intel switches (which are port based VLAN).
There is any workaround ?

you need to tag the trunk port for all of the vlans you want to use between the the switches and set your clients gateway to be the ip of the switch that has routing enabled

Banuiesc ca esti la aceeasi firma cu Andrei Zamfirache, asa ca iata raspunsul pe care i l-am dat si lui Andrei.

Intel-urile au algoritmi proprietari si protocoale proprietare pentru tratarea a ceea ce in standarde poarta numele de Virtual LAN (VLAN) - asa ca nu vei putea face nimic cu VLAN-urile din Intel-uri.

Ati putea sa folositi vechile switch-uri intel pe post de switch-uri fara management pentru accesul PC-urilor si imprimantelor in retea (le asignati functia "access") si sa le legati de cate un port din ProCurve care este definit ca Untagged in VLAN-ul care trebuie. Nu le mai folositi legate intre ele (practic pana acum tu le foloseati ca si device-uri cu functie "core").

Astfel veti avea o extindere a HP-urilor cand va fi nevoie. Sau le puteti tine in rezerva, pentru ca atunci cand se strica vreunul din HP-uri (si sunt sigur ca veti avea probleme cu ele, indiferent ce spune marketingul lor) sa aveti ce pune in loc.
