VLAN tagging
Hi ,
I have one HP Procurve 4108 gl core switch and one HP Procurve 2848 Edge switch. I want to seperate some edge switch's ports from the network by setting Vlans. You may find my confugration in the attachement. Port 2-48 in edge switch are member of VLAN100. They only need to get and ip address from Core switch, access to Internet and databse server. I configure the switches but from the edge switch i can not get the ip address, i can not see the Internet etc... It doesn't work.
How can I configure this ?

Re: VLAN tagging
I see you have tagged the interfaces that go to your servers and router. Why? I only see one VLAN.
Did you tell your servers and router about the vlans and the tagging? Understanding tags is not an automatic thing.
Try it without the tags.
Ron

Re: VLAN tagging
Hi
Just keep the links to servers and router untagged for Vlan 100.
Also, be sure to tag all your vlans on the uplinks and untag the primary vlan.
You need to tag Vlan 100 and untag Vlan 1 on both switches on the uplink ports.
I suggest you have a look on Vlans, tagging and untagging for better understanding:

Good Luck !!!
