Re: Vlan Question tagging
We have two building connect by firbe to an unmanged netgear In building two we have the cisco asa5510 and the router 192.168.1.1 cisco 1841. In building one we have the users. We purchased two adsl lines to go with an stonegate firewall. The stonegate in in building One. we would like
4MB LES Load balanced with the 2 ADSL connections on the StoneGate
Cisco ASA removed from site to site IPSec topology
StoneGate at Yeadon promoted to default gateway (Primary ingress/egress of all site traffic)
So we purchase two HP 2910al switches connected this on another firbe channel across the buildings. Our ip address range is 192.168.1.0/24
Then we desgigned the network picture to Tag the cisco and easynet internet on hp switch 1 to the hp switch 2 also on that switch we want to tag adsl 1&2 acording to that picture
on site 1
netgear > firewall > router
hp switch 1 >
on site two
netgear > hp switch 2(see above)
port 48 is the firbe connection, do i tag this or truck this?

Re: Vlan Question tagging
The connections between the two buildings is a fibre connected to the two respective hp switches.
Since there is just one fibre you don't have to trunk this connection. Only useful with two lines or more.
Leaves tagging the line to run x vlans over it.
