Re: What is the difference between Gbic-SX-LC and Gbic-LX-LC
Hi
The GBIC-SX-LC is for Multi-Mode fiber cables for less than 550 meters.

The GBIC-LX-LC is for Single-Mode fiber cables up to 10km, and it also supports the Multi-mode.

The LC is the type of connector.
Price wise, the GBIC-LX is about 2.5 more expensive than the GBCI-SX.
Good Luck !!!

Re: What is the difference between Gbic-SX-LC and Gbic-LX-LC
Thanks for your answer
As I told this we need this adaptor to connect our provider fiber so I supose that we will require Gbic-LX-LC ...
Might be it will be less expensive to find FDDI card ?
Seems that HP doen't sell anymore FDDI card :(

I wouldn't suppose. Different fibre optic Ethernet standards (SX, LX, LH, FX, FL, FP whatever) are not interoperable, whatever the length. Ask your ISP for a specification - although LX is most likely.
"Might be it will be less expensive to find FDDI card ? "
Gigabit Ethernet is far cheaper than FDDI ever was, as new. If you want to do things on the cheap an external transceiver might be cheaper than a Gbic. I don't understand why with a GigE link, a few hundred Euro on a transceiver would be a big deal, though.
